What you will do

• Promote and evolve the software verification and validation (V&V) strategy for power meters, environmental monitors, and edge gateways.
• Design, implement, and maintain manual and automated test coverage for embedded Linux software, firmware, and device-level features.
• Execute system-level, integration, regression, and stress tests simulating real-world customer deployments.
• Investigate field and manufacturing issues by reproducing failures and performing root-cause analysis through logs and network traffic.
• Validate industrial and building-automation communications protocols (Modbus, BACnet) and device-to-cloud interactions (MQTT).
• Contribute to test automation frameworks and CI pipelines to improve repeatability and release confidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field with 5-10 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in software quality or verification roles with a strong focus on embedded or systems-level testing (typically 6+ years).
• Hands-on experience testing embedded Linux systems and firmware-driven devices.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP) and experience validating communications over wired and wireless networks.
• Proficiency with test automation and scripting using Python or shell scripting.
• Experience testing industrial device UIs, particularly with Squish.

Nice to have

• Experience testing power meters and environmental controls.
• Exposure to long-running reliability testing, soak testing, and performance characterization.
• Familiarity with embedded build systems, release workflows, or cross-compiled environments.
• Background working with products deployed at scale in industrial environments.
