TL;DR
Head of Intelligence (AI Engineering): Leading and scaling an AI-native engineering practice within a European technology services company with an accent on revenue generation and delivery of lighthouse engagements. What you will do
- Own the Intelligence pillar end-to-end, structuring and scaling the practice into a strong revenue-generating unit.
- Act as the lead architect for initial lighthouse engagements, writing architecture documents and reviewing code.
- Recruit and grow the AI team from a small founding group to a mid-sized practice (20–50 people).
- Convert existing client relationships into a sustainable AI project pipeline.
- Pressure-test and refine the AI strategy, reference architecture, and sales enablement toolkit.
- Collaborate directly with the Group CTO and the CTO Office leadership team.
Requirements
- Experience leading AI, ML, or data science teams within a services or consulting context.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery personally, including deep hands-on architecture and code review.
- Current technical credibility across the modern AI stack: frontier LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, MLOps, and vector databases.
- Experience shipping AI solutions integrated into enterprise backends (e.g., SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce).
- Must be based in the EU or willing to be to maintain regulatory credibility for AI Governance.
- Ability to communicate complex architectural decisions effectively to client CTOs.
Nice to have
- Regulatory fluency in EU AI Act, GDPR, or AI deployment in regulated industries (finance, pharma, healthcare).
- Proven track record of scaling technical teams from <10 to 20–50 members.
- Experience in staff augmentation businesses and balancing commercial outcomes with resource utilization.
- Public professional profile, including published articles, talks, or open-source contributions.
