What you will do
- Model discount impacts by service level and develop net cost models using client shipment data to project rate change effects.
- Analyze agreement structures, GRI, terms, accessorials, and surcharges to identify cost drivers and communicate findings.
- Perform market and commercial analysis, framing reviews in carrier pricing dynamics and delivering executive narratives.
- Conduct financial analysis of carrier proposals, projected savings models, and post-agreement validation reviews.
- Monitor surcharges, pricing changes, and service mix impacts, providing ongoing alerts and annual GRI modeling.
Requirements
- 5+ years in parcel contract negotiation, carrier pricing, or transportation procurement.
- Deep knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and regional carrier rate structures, surcharges, accessorials, and incentives.
- Proven track record of savings through contract analysis, rate modeling, and financial assessment.
- Experience analyzing large shipping datasets and translating into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences; highly organized and self-directed.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in logistics consulting, parcel audit, 3PL, or at FedEx/UPS/regional carriers.
- Familiarity with parcel audit platforms and shipping analytics tools.
- Negotiation experience with UPS, FedEx, or regional carriers.
- Experience with clients in eCommerce, retail, healthcare, or manufacturing.
- Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent.
