Technology Designer (Telecommunications)

TL;DR

Technology Designer (Telecommunications): Producing construction drawings and specifications for telecommunications, electronic security, and audio-visual systems with an accent on structured cabling and complex system analysis. Focus on designing large-scale infrastructure projects and ensuring compliance with TIA standards using Revit and AutoCAD.

Location: Charlotte, NC (onsite). Must be a US Citizen

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design telecommunications, audio/visual, and electronic security systems for projects of various scales.
• Produce comprehensive design documents, including drawings, narratives, and specifications.
• Perform complex analysis, calculations, and evaluations to support project needs.
• Review shop drawings and submittals, answer RFIs, and conduct site visits during construction.
• Collaborate directly with Architects and Owners to ensure project alignment.
• Research and implement design choices based on TIA standards.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license.
• 5+ years of experience in telecommunications and special systems design.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Extensive knowledge of TIA standards.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally for project meetings.

Nice to have

• BS in Engineering.
• RCDD certification (or willingness to obtain it).
• Experience in federal/municipal government, healthcare, or aviation sectors.
