Software Architect (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bedford, New Hampshire, with scheduled attendance at the office required

What you will do

• Develop scalable, secure, and compliant software architectures based on system and software requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and software teams across multiple medical device projects.
• Provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives.
• Review detailed designs, code, testing structures, and coding standards.
• Ensure adherence to medical device software regulations, including IEC 62304.
• Integrate safety measures, conduct risk assessments, and strengthen cybersecurity for device safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with embedded systems and medical device development.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes.
• Ability to work from the Bedford, NH office on a scheduled basis.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or experience with Class B and C medical devices.
• Linux OS configuration, embedded Linux, or real-time operating systems.
• Test-driven development, CI/CD, and additional regulatory standards knowledge.
• Cybersecurity hardening and experience developing machine learning-based products.
• Generative AI for software development, Atlassian tools, and software development best practices.
