Systems Administrator (Broadcast Studio Environment)

Location: Alexandria, VA, United States — on-site. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends based on project needs. Public Trust clearance required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, monitor, and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and other network infrastructure for a broadcast studio.
• Integrate networks with broadcast servers, video routers, encoders, and IP-based audio/video systems.
• Support IP video streaming, multicast systems, cloud video storage, editing, and streaming services.
• Manage network subscriptions, software licenses, cloud services, user accounts, access controls, and digital signage for monitors and kiosks.
• Provide real-time troubleshooting during live broadcasts, maintain network documentation, and lead upgrades, expansions, and technology deployments.
• Coordinate with vendors, train broadcast and IT staff, and implement security audits, patching, and compliance checks.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of network engineering experience, preferably in broadcast or media environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, network hardware, monitoring tools, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Experience managing network accounts, subscriptions, and digital content for monitors and kiosks.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure during live broadcasts and collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
• Public Trust clearance and on-site work in Alexandria, Virginia are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Media Services, Azure Media Services, or similar cloud-based video services.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or comparable networking hardware.
