Network Engineer

TL;DR

Network Engineer (CSfC/DoD): Assist with planning, design, implementation, sustainment, and cybersecurity of multi-platform networks supporting Marine Corps and Navy environments with an accent on Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) infrastructure. Focus on installing and configuring network appliances, routers, switches, firewalls, troubleshooting performance issues, and ensuring operational readiness.

Location: Suffolk, VA (up to 20% travel to North Carolina, San Diego, CA, Hawaii). Active or current DoD Secret Security Clearance (minimum) required. Ability to support on-call operations and occasional after-hours work.

What you will do

• Assist in planning, design, development, implementation, and technical support of complex, multi-platform network environments.
• Conduct requirements analysis and optimize system and network performance.
• Support fielding and sustainment of CSfC networks.
• Contribute to cybersecurity efforts for installed systems and components like ESS.
• Install, configure, and support network appliances and physical components including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Provide on-call support, touch labor, troubleshooting, maintenance, and sustainment for Marine Corps and Navy operations.

Requirements

• Active or current DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Experience supporting DoD network environments, including classified systems
• Hands-on experience with network installation, configuration, and sustainment
• Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and network appliances
• Understanding of network performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Ability to support on-call operations and occasional after-hours work
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience supporting CSfC network infrastructures
• Experience in Marine Corps or Navy network environments
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles applied to network systems
• DoD 8570/8140 certification (e.g., Security+, Network+, or equivalent)
