What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of backend and data engineers focusing on calculation services.
• Act as the primary liaison between engineering and business stakeholders to define technical requirements.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality delivery of complex integrated projects.
• Develop and maintain long-term technical roadmaps aligned with product objectives.
• Optimize team velocity by identifying resource gaps, process bottlenecks, and technical debt.
• Collaborate on architecture design to ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and data-driven.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in people management.
• Deep knowledge of the Python landscape and idiomatic solution design.
• Expertise in high-performance and high-availability applications, including performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and cybersecurity risks.
• Must be based in the Austin Metro area.
