TL;DR

Legal AI Engineer (AI): Building foundational legal team AI infrastructure and shared maintainable assets with an accent on LLM integration and workflow automation. Focus on designing secure, scalable AI workflows, implementing a queryable knowledge layer, and developing MCP integrations to turn experiments into robust systems.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote or Hybrid in San Francisco, Denver, or New York)

Salary: $150/hr (approx. 20 hours per week)

What you will do

  • Package individual Claude workflows and dashboards into shared, maintainable assets for the legal team.
  • Develop MCP integrations to automate data flow and connect current AI tooling.
  • Build a structured, queryable knowledge layer fed by research, positions, and precedents.
  • Implement AI-assisted workflows for contract first-pass review, matter intake, and response drafting.
  • Create comprehensive maintenance runbooks and train internal staff for a seamless hand-off.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience shipping AI-assisted workflows from prompt to production.
  • Direct proficiency with Claude or comparable LLMs, including prompt engineering and agentic workflows.
  • Experience integrating tools using APIs, MCPs, or similar patterns.
  • Ability to translate business problems from non-technical stakeholders into functional systems.
  • Experience operating within internal technology governance and security review processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience working alongside attorneys and understanding legal contracting workflows and research cycles.
