TL;DR

Director of Customer Development (EdTech): Managing a portfolio of higher education accounts to ensure retention and expansion through strategic advisor relationships with an accent on Success Planning and C-level engagement. Focus on maximizing customer ROI, negotiating renewal contracts, and identifying growth opportunities within assigned accounts.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the US and available during U.S. business hours)

Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 USD

What you will do

  • Nurture trust-based relationships with President, Provost, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to align product value with customer institutional challenges and goals.
  • Negotiate renewal contracts, upsells, and additional service agreements to maximize growth.
  • Own and execute the Success Planning process to drive student outcomes and maximize ROI.
  • Track KPIs, customer health scores, and contract data within Salesforce.
  • Identify and develop customer success stories to serve as references for RFPs and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in EdTech or at US higher education institutions.
  • Proven ability to deliver formal executive business reviews to AVP, VP, and C-suite executives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage 15-20 accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Experience with cross-functional team coordination.

Nice to have

  • Leadership or management experience in Student Success, Academic Affairs, or Institutional Research at US colleges.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, and Outreach.
