Location: Hybrid - report to GM Global Technical Center in Warren, MI or Mountain View, CA three times per week minimum (Oshawa, ON also listed). GM does not provide immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, etc.). No relocation benefits.

Salary: $189,300 - $290,700

What you will do

• Lead a team of fullstack engineers to deliver rapid prototypes across web, mobile, and embedded platforms.
• Act as technical consultant to Product, Design, and Engineering teams on future experiences and ecosystem alignment.
• Architect, develop, and deploy prototype solutions to gather insights and enable data-driven decisions.
• Provide best practices for software development across technologies and platforms.
• Expand knowledge in emerging tech, vehicle cycles, in-vehicle/cloud architecture, and GM's business model.
• Embrace breadth-over-depth prototyping focus, not production engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in relevant field.
• 2+ years as team or people leader.
• 7+ years fullstack development: ReactJS/HTML/CSS (frontend), Python/Node/Next.js (backend), Android/Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (mobile).
• Experience decomposing features into engineering work items.
• Strategic thinking to translate ideas into requirements; innovation/prototyping experience.
• User-centered design principles; collaboration with UX/UI; communication to influence stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Automotive software/hardware knowledge, including in-vehicle systems and connectivity.
• GM tech stack familiarity; bridging technical/business in prototyping.
• Cross-functional enterprise/automotive experience; ML frameworks like Scikit-learn.
• Rapid prototyping/lean frameworks.
