Location: Hybrid working with office in Osterley, London

What you will do

• Produce aesthetic models using traditional machinery and digital tools like 3D printers and laser cutters.
• Execute professional finishing including sanding, priming, painting, and texture matching.
• Build functional rigs and mock-ups to test human-factors and scale.
• Design and assemble works-like prototypes with microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and basic code.
• Solder custom wire harnesses and PCBs for integrated user interfaces.
• Maintain shop equipment, manage inventory, and act as Safety Officer with risk assessments and training.

Requirements

• Hybrid working: split time between Osterley office in London and home
• Experience in professional prototyping lab, model shop, or R&D (ID consultancy a plus).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino for CAD/CAM file preparation.
• Strong soldering skills and understanding of basic circuit design and power management.
• Hacker mindset for creative problem-solving within physical constraints.
• Obsessive attention to detail in tolerances, fit-and-finish, and material realism.
