Simulator Engineer

TL;DR

Simulator Engineer (Simulation/Aerospace): Maintaining and repairing hirify.global simulators and ancillary support systems for MQ-9B Protector at RAF Waddington with an accent on hardware-software integration and preventive maintenance. Focus on diagnosing training device issues, performing snag clearance, and ensuring QTG compliance.

Location: Based at RAF Waddington; must be resident in the Lincolnshire area and possess existing rights to live and work in the UK.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair flight simulator training devices and associated support systems, including scenario generation and debrief.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs), Daily Readiness (DR) checks, and recurrent QTG runs to ensure operational standards.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in collaboration with senior and remote teams.
• Use the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate hardware and software integration tasks and review technical deliverables prior to customer submission.
• Travel to multiple locations within the UK and occasionally abroad to provide project support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in simulation or a similar field.
• Strong technical experience working with hardware, software, and electronics.
• Proficiency in PC and network skills.
• Must be resident in the Lincolnshire area and flexible to travel at short notice.
• Able to obtain UK security clearance (requires at least 5 years of UK residency).
• Existing rights to live and work in the UK.
