Senior Machinist

TL;DR

Senior Machinist (CNC Milling): Overseeing pod team and operating Haas/Okuma CNC mills to machine custom fixtures, tooling, and production components with an accent on precision tolerances and production scheduling. Focus on programming with Mastercam, interpreting engineering drawings/GD&T, and ensuring equipment maintenance and quality compliance.

Location: Onsite in Marietta, GA. U.S. Persons only due to ITAR export controls (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees).

What you will do

• Program, set up, and operate Haas and Okuma CNC milling machines using Mastercam.
• Machine custom fixtures, tooling, and production components to tight tolerances.
• Coordinate pod technicians, assign tasks, and monitor production schedules and efficiency.
• Inspect equipment, identify maintenance issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members while fostering safety and quality culture.
• Collaborate on Wire EDM processes with Makino for fixture support and optimize workflows.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required (ITAR compliance: citizens, green card holders, refugees, or asylees).
• High school graduate with 10+ years CNC milling experience in job shop environment.
• Strong proficiency in Mastercam (2D/3D), G-Code/CAM, Haas/Okuma mills.
• Ability to read/interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Experience machining fixtures, tight-tolerance parts; attention to detail and process control.
• Problem-solving, communication, organizational skills; knowledge of GLP, ISO, safety procedures.

Nice to have

• High-mix, low-to-medium volume job shop experience.
• Familiarity with Makino Wire EDM for fixtures/tooling.
