AWS CWI for Soddy Daisy, TN - Permanent and Contractors

TL;DR

AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector): Perform examinations of materials in pipe and structural inspections with an accent on compliance with procedures, codes, standards, and specifications. Focus on interfacing with clients and managers, preparing written instructions and reports, and guiding trainees in industrial environments.

Location: Soddy Daisy, TN - must be local to the area or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available). U.S. Persons only due to ITAR export controls.

What you will do

• Perform examinations of materials according to procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Provide OJT and guidance to trainees while being familiar with method scopes and limitations.
• Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope, priorities, and meet expectations.
• Prepare written instructions and organize/report examination results.
• Work independently, support team members, and handle other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• AWS-CWI certification with at least 5 years experience in piping and/or AWS D1.1.
• Working knowledge of industrial environments and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with departments and customers to report issues and solve problems.
• Pass drug screen, valid driver’s license with clean record, and U.S. Person status (citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to ITAR.
• Ability to work in heights, confined spaces, around operating equipment, with radiation/hazardous materials, up to 12-hour shifts, 7 days/week, and lift 100 pounds.
