Environmental Advisor

TL;DR

Environmental Advisor (Infrastructure): Support implementation of environmental strategy and management for power transmission and distribution projects with an accent on compliance, audits, and risk mitigation. Focus on providing technical environmental advice, conducting inspections, incident investigations, and delivering training across UK sites.

Location: Hybrid role based in England or Wales, flexible to travel to project sites including Inverness, Scotland. Expected visits to facilities and worksites around England & Wales.

What you will do

• Implement environmental strategy, standards, and HSSE policy obligations on projects.
• Provide technical support for environmental plans, legal obligations, and client engagement.
• Develop and deliver training on key environmental risks and awareness.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Monitor environmental performance, KPIs, trends, and maintain licences/certifications.
• Liaise with management, legal teams, and assurance groups on regulatory issues.

Requirements

• Willing to travel internationally and to UK sites including Scotland.
• Degree in environmental discipline (desirable); professional membership (desirable).
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience collating environmental data, on-site practical knowledge.
• Practical monitoring skills (noise, vibration, air); authoring management processes.
• Understanding of environmental law, governance, inspections, and auditing.
• Driving licence.
