HSE Lead (Transmission & Distribution)

TL;DR

HSE Lead (Transmission & Distribution): Provide on-site HSSE support, assurance, and advice for electricity Transmission and Distribution projects across northern Scotland with an accent on health, safety, security, and environmental compliance. Focus on leading incident investigations, developing HSSE management plans, and monitoring performance indicators.

Location: Based in the Inverness region, Scotland, United Kingdom with expected visits to facilities and worksites around Scotland. Hybrid with home-working.

What you will do

• Provide strategic advice, guidance, and support on project HSSE matters.
• Roll out company HSSE objectives, campaigns, and initiatives for projects.
• Lead high potential incident investigations and support others, generating lessons learned.
• Undertake site visits for assurance activities, reviews, and incident investigations.
• Develop and implement HSSE management plans and provide performance reports.
• Conduct leading/lagging indicator analysis and act as HSSE focal point for clients.
• Deliver training and mentorship to new HSSE team recruits.

Requirements

• Level 4 Certificate in Health & Safety (minimum) or Level 6 Diploma or higher (desirable)
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
• Incident Investigation Training
• Lead/Senior HSE Advisor experience in transmission/distribution, oil/gas or related industry (preferable)
• Excellent knowledge of UK legislation
• High communication skills, planning, and MS Office proficiency

Nice to have

• HSE experience in Overhead Lines, Underground Cabling, and Civils environments
