Resident Engineer, Project Management (Automotive)

Location: Ota, Japan. Work is performed in an office, manufacturing facility, and client-site environment, with up to 15% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Provide customer-facing technical support for electrical and software product development, validation, release, and vehicle integration.
• Maintain customer test benches with current hirify.global product samples and perform initial troubleshooting, data collection, and issue triage.
• Support analysis of warranty parts and provide field and dealership technical assistance.
• Facilitate customer change management by entering technical requirements and responses and tracking approvals.
• Lead electrical and software integration of hirify.global products into customer vehicles.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of customer-facing or design engineering experience, or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and software products, customer-specific PDM and PLM systems, and databases.
• Ability to complete administrative tasks supporting product development, testing, and release.
• Experience solving complex technical issues involving electronics products integrated into vehicles.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate complex technical concepts with internal and external stakeholders.
• A clean driving record is required because the role involves using a hirify.global- or customer-owned vehicle.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering field.
• Experience as a customer-facing, application, or design engineer for automotive electronics products.
• Direct experience with the applicable customer.
