What you will do

• Perform materials characterization using SEM, XRF, XRD, Optical Microscopy, Nanoindentation, and Profilometers.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, electrolytes, and samples to ensure seamless experimental continuity across shifts.
• Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and throughput.
• Monitor workflow performance and troubleshoot common issues with characterization tools.
• Record and maintain experimental data with high attention to detail.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to support diverse projects in life and physical sciences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical/Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
• Experience with sample preparation techniques, specifically sputter coating.
• Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be based in Cambridge, MA, USA.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with XRF, XRD, nanoindentors, and profilometers.
• Experience in high-throughput production environments focused on scalability and efficiency.
• Basic engineering skills for troubleshooting microscopes, x-rays, and lasers.
• Ability to operate automated workflows and generate custom scripts.
