What you will do

• Own material coupon characterization test planning and execution for metals, composites, and bonded structures.
• Lead the development and maintenance of the material property allowables database.
• Build the materials characterization lab, including selecting and commissioning test hardware.
• Develop internal standardized test protocols based on ASTM and other relevant standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials testing, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident (Green Card), refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR compliance.
• Experience with mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and material characterization techniques.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with TGA, DSC, OM, SEM/EDS, FTIR, and XRD.
• Strong knowledge of ISO and ASM standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
