Software Project Leader (Automotive)

TL;DR

Software Project Leader (Automotive Telematics): Driving successful delivery of Stratus NAD software platform into global TCU programs with an accent on lifecycle management, cross-functional coordination, and quality targets. Focus on integrating 4G/5G modems, telephony services, cybersecurity modules, FOTA updates, and ensuring compliance with automotive standards and regulations.

Location: hirify.global offices in Bucharest, Romania or Ulm, Germany. Willing to travel up to 30%, domestic and international. hirify.global Flex – WFH, Hybrid or Office.

What you will do

• Serve as primary interface for Stratus NAD software team with customer programs and OEMs, aligning to expectations, carrier requirements, and telecom regulations.
• Plan, monitor, and control NAD software development lifecycle, including modem integration, telephony, SIM/eSIM, Linux services, GNSS, FOTA, diagnostics, and cybersecurity.
• Coordinate maturity gates, cross-domain integration, defect triaging, and virtual teams across software, vendors, systems engineering, validation, and DevOps.
• Define project processes aligned with PLM300 and Automotive SPICE, track compliance, risks, and issues.
• Maintain milestone schedules, provide status updates, and lead software readiness reviews for releases and certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Business Administration.
• Strong software project management in globally distributed environments using Waterfall and Agile.
• Experience with complex embedded systems, ideally connectivity or telematics ECUs.
• Proven leadership in matrix environments with 10+ team members.
• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE or CMMI; strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Willing to work in hirify.global office in Germany or Romania; clean driving record.

Nice to have

• PMP or PMI-ACP certification.
• Automotive experience in connectivity, telematics, or embedded platforms.
• Automotive SPICE Level 2+ delivery.
• Background in embedded Linux, modem integration, telecom, or RF.
