Program Manager (Biomedical Informatics)

TL;DR

Program Manager (Biomedical Informatics): Provide overall leadership and management for contract activities supporting biomedical informatics research, clinical data analytics, and AI initiatives with an accent on program execution, technical oversight, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with federal requirements, and delivering project objectives in data science and scientific computing infrastructure.

Onsite in Washington, DC metropolitan area (Bethesda, MD). Must be US Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust 5 security clearance.

What you will do

• Lead contractor personnel, implement management controls, and ensure contract meets cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Develop program plans, establish client relationships, and coordinate priorities across task areas.
• Manage timelines, risks, deliverables, and multidisciplinary teams including data scientists and DevOps engineers.
• Prepare monthly reports on activities, finances, staffing, and progress; lead status meetings.
• Support agency goals in biomedical informatics, data platforms, and Agile practices while ensuring FISMA compliance.
• Implement quality assurance, configuration management, and governance processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in public health, health sciences, data science, management, or related (Bachelor's with experience acceptable).
• Minimum 8 years managing federal health, biomedical research, or data science programs.
• Minimum 3 years managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience with federal health agencies, Agile/Scrum, and program management plans.
• Ability to handle reporting, cost accounting, and burn rate analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience in biomedical informatics or health data science for federal government.
• Knowledge of FISMA and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
• PMP, FAC-P/PM, or equivalent certification.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills in research IT environments.
