What you will do

• Evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers for mechanical parts based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Provide expertise on part specifications, material selection, and manufacturing processes like machining, casting, and molding.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to align specifications, negotiate, and mitigate risks.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to parts quality, lead corrective actions, and ensure standards compliance.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and implement risk mitigation strategies like dual sourcing.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes, staying updated on new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field + 8+ years experience, or Master’s + 6 years.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance and classified access.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD modeling tools for mechanical models and drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and standards (ASME, ASTM, ISO).
• Experience leading complex projects, strong communication for technical papers and proposals.
