Senior Backend Engineer (Team Atlas): Building and operating data infrastructure powering the feature computation platform with an accent on backend services, event-driven pipelines, and cloud systems. Focus on tackling latency, reliability, scale challenges, owning end-to-end architecture, and leveraging agentic AI tools in daily workflow.

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services in Python on AWS including Lambda functions, DynamoDB, Aurora, and event-driven pipelines handling production traffic.
• Tackle challenges in latency, reliability, and scale for backend systems.
• Own systems end-to-end from architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, to incident response.
• Make key architectural decisions with authority over design and implementation.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and improve development tooling and processes.
• Collaborate directly with Product and Design to shape future features.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in senior capacity leading complex projects.
• Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong system design skills for making architectural trade-offs.
• Depth in data pipelines/storage, event-driven architectures, caching/performance, or serverless systems.
• Strong communication to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work hybrid from Berlin, London, or Iasi offices.

Nice to have

• Apache Iceberg, AWS Athena, AWS Glue, or Apache Spark.
• Streaming/real-time data pipelines (Kinesis).
• Multi-level caching (Redis, DynamoDB, in-memory).
• Serverless at scale (Lambda, SAM, CloudFormation).
