Investigations Analyst

TL;DR

Investigations Analyst (Security): Conducting comprehensive investigations and analysis to protect SpaceX intellectual property, personnel, and operations with an accent on insider threat detection, data exfiltration triage, and anomalous activity response. Focus on utilizing SIEM/DLP/UEBA tools, building metrics and reports, and liaising with internal and external partners to mitigate risks.

Hawthorne, CA (onsite). Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Willingness to travel ad hoc required.

Pay range: $85,000–$120,000/per year

What you will do

• Conduct investigations into insider threats, data exfiltration, and anomalous events using network monitoring and data analytics tools.
• Collect and analyze program data to evaluate risks to infrastructure, programs, and operations.
• Triage event data, build queries across sources, and produce metrics, reports, and case studies.
• Collaborate with Information Security, HR, Legal, and external partners on internal investigations.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders, support training/briefings, and benchmark with industry/government partners.
• Identify program improvements and manage sensitive information securely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in internal investigations, information security, or IT; or 4+ years experience without degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one; subject to background check, drug/alcohol testing.
• ITAR: U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (green card), refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

• 1+ year using SIEM (Splunk, Panther, Exabeam) and/or digital forensics.
• Understanding of insider threat programs and manifestations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Purview for eDiscovery.
• Experience with investigation planning, evidence handling, interviewing, and reporting.
• Excellent communication, organization, adaptability, and discretion skills.
