Salary: $102,000 - $112,750. $10,000 hiring bonus ($5,000 after 30 days, $5,000 after 1 year).

What you will do
- Protect and safeguard company assets, personnel, property, and customer shipments.
- Conduct corporate and criminal investigations, prepare detailed reports, and provide court testimony.
- Identify, handle trespassers, and make arrests as appropriate on company property.
- Counsel officials to reduce crime and accidents, coordinate railroad emergency responses, and supervise contract security.
- Perform crime prevention patrols of facilities, railroad property, and trains, emphasizing high-value shipments.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Satisfactorily completed basic police training at a recognized state certified academy.
- Meet peace officer commissioning standards in California, be commissioned, and maintain valid State Peace Officer License.
- Meet BNSF Resource Protection Solutions Team standards as a Special Agent.
- Valid driver’s license; physically and psychologically fit; pass background investigation, medical review, drug screen, and company training.
- Eighteen months of successful full-time peace officer experience with law enforcement agency.
- Broad knowledge of railroad industry, operations, criminal law, and emergency situations like derailments.
- Willing to travel and use company computer systems.
