Digital Forensic Analyst I

Digital Forensic Analyst I (Digital Forensics): Perform preservation and collection of mobile device and cloud-stored data with an accent on forensic data acquisition, basic forensic analysis, and chain of custody. Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 a year

What you will do

• Collect and preserve forensic data from mobile devices and cloud-stored sources in both on-site and remote settings.
• Conduct basic forensic analysis and execute evidence acquisition across a range of devices and data sources.
• Coordinate with legal teams and client IT departments to understand project scope and discovery requirements.
• Maintain and update forensic toolsets (including version updates and new options) and follow standard operating procedures.
• Manage chain of custody best practices and perform quality checks on deliverables before client submission.
• Document forensic workflows and support additional IT functions as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience with the forensic lifecycle, including scoping, evidence acquisition, and intermediate-level forensic analysis.
• Experience with industry-standard forensic tools such as EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, X1 Social Discovery, and/or Logicube Falcon.
• General understanding of Mac/Windows filesystems, mobile devices, and encryption.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be willing to travel regularly on short notice and have a valid passport for occasional international travel.
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet client deadlines.

Nice to have

• Understanding of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM).
• Industry-standard certification (e.g., EnCE, CCE, CCFE, GCFE, GCFA, CCO, CCPA, CCME).
• Knowledge of litigation support applications (e.g., Relativity, Concordance, Nuix, LAW PreDiscovery).
• Experience with structured data exports, analysis, custom scripting, and report development.
• Understanding of Robo/Rich copy tools, BAT (PowerShell) scripting, and Active Directory.
• Experience with scripting/programming and database languages (SQL, VB, HTML, Access).
