TL;DR

Data Analysis Engineer (Structure Simulation): Developing ML models and simulations to estimate loads and predict damage for structural components with an accent on data analytics and finite element analysis. Focus on automating data processing of telematics data, building high-fidelity simulations, and improving product durability.

Location: Onsite in Champaign, IL (USA). Relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

  • Build and deploy machine learning models using scikit-learn to estimate loads, strains, and damage/life predictions.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations in Power BI and Tableau to identify root causes of structural issues.
  • Automate data processing workflows for high-frequency time-series telematics data using Python and Git.
  • Manage large-scale SQL databases (Snowflake, MySQL, SQLite) containing billions of rows of summarized data.
  • Build and validate simulation models using HyperMesh, NX, and Nastran for durability and fracture mechanics analysis.
  • Collaborate with design and testing teams to enhance product reliability and field performance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), fatigue, and durability modeling.
  • Proficiency in building ML models for load estimation and life prediction via scikit-learn.
  • Must be able to work onsite five days a week in Champaign, IL.
  • Must have valid US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
