Associate Design Engineer

TL;DR

Associate Design Engineer (Mechanical CAD): Understanding and translating project requirements into computer models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings with an accent on mechanical design principles, GD&T, and manufacturing integration. Focus on ensuring design integrity, accuracy of bills of material, and cost-effective functional products.

Onsite – Buffalo, NY (East Aurora, NY). Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required.

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 Annually (Buffalo, NY)

What you will do

• Understand and translate project requirements from various sources into computer models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Contribute to cost-effective designs and functional products by collaborating with Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Create and check detail drawings for completeness, accuracy, and correct Bill of Material.
• Ensure design integrity using proportionality, sizing, tolerances, and GD&T practices.
• Suggest materials and processing procedures to meet design requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 0-3 years design/drafting experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
• Experience communicating with technical community, customers, and vendors.
• Experience with mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM.
