What you will do

• Lead the team architecting and designing notifications relevance systems.
• Guide development of holistic systems for budgeting optimization, candidate retrieval, and ranking.
• Work with ML engineers to design, implement, and optimize machine learning models for personalization and re-engagement.
• Participate in full development cycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyze, and deploy.
• Build and maintain a diverse team collaborating across disciplines on complex challenges.
• Serve as thought partner to product and management, aligning plans with company goals and communicating with stakeholders.
• Help engineers set career goals and development plans, pushing them to grow into leaders.

Requirements

• 2+ years building and managing engineering teams
• 5+ years as Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer on large-scale ML systems
• Deep understanding of building and deploying large-scale recommender systems (retrieval + ranking) in production
• Hands-on experience with deep learning models, sequential features, and real-time systems
• Experience with distributed training and inference (Ray, PyTorch Distributed, or similar)
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning or multi-objective optimization in recommendation systems
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, results-oriented in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems
