Senior AI Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Build and deliver AI-powered features from functional and technical requirements provided by TPMs and Principal AI Engineers.
• Develop end-to-end AI solutions, including backend services, APIs, and application integrations deployed on Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or AKS.
• Integrate LLMs through Azure OpenAI Service and design, test, and optimize prompts using Azure AI Studio.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers to embed models trained or fine-tuned on proprietary data through Azure Machine Learning.
• Evaluate and validate model outputs against quality, accuracy, and performance benchmarks.
• Support CI/CD testing and deployment, monitor production performance with Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and troubleshoot AI behavior.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience focused on backend development; Python is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, particularly Azure OpenAI Service and GPT models through Azure.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs and microservices on Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM optimization techniques, ideally with Azure AI Studio or similar Microsoft tooling.
• Understanding of model evaluation frameworks and performance metrics.
• Experience working with ML Engineers or deploying ML models into production through Azure Machine Learning.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices using Azure DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation using Azure AI Search.
• Exposure to model fine-tuning or proprietary datasets through Azure Machine Learning.
• Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience building scalable AI/ML systems in production on Azure.
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure AI Engineer Associate.
