AI Azure Foundry Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Granada, Malaga, Madrid, Barcelona, or Valencia, Spain. Workation is available from any hirify.global location for up to 4 weeks per year within the EU.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy intelligent automation solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, model orchestration, vector search, secure prompt pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
• Develop and maintain production-grade Python services integrated with AI models, Azure workflows, AI hubs, datasets, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Deliver AI-powered automation for high-volume, repetitive processes across Payroll, Products, and other internal functions, including intelligent document processing, NLP workflows, AI assistants, agentic automation, RAG, RAA, knowledge management, and enterprise search.
• Build secure API and microservice integrations plus pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, embeddings, vector indexing, retrieval, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Create reusable AI components, frameworks, and engineering patterns while contributing to architecture, technical decisions, performance optimization, and engineering standards.
• Partner with Payroll, Product, and Business SMEs to translate business problems into scalable AI designs, communicate capabilities and risks, and drive measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Python development experience in production environments, including backend development, APIs, automation, integrations, testing, and software engineering best practices.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• At least 3 years of experience delivering AI or Machine Learning solutions in production or enterprise environments.
• Use feature branches and peer-reviewed pull requests for all code; develop unit tests alongside code and include observability and monitoring from day one.
• Store secrets and credentials in Azure Key Vault, use Managed Identity and Zero Trust principles for Azure service communication, and implement Content Safety, grounding, evaluation frameworks, and Responsible AI guardrails before staging or production deployment.
• Engage with Payroll and Product SMEs before development, communicate AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and confidence levels transparently, share reusable components and learnings, and raise risks and blockers early.
