Principal DevEx Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Define and steer long-term architectural strategies and lead technological transformations of critical systems.
• Build self-service developer platforms (e.g., Backstage) and deliver golden-path templates to accelerate onboarding.
• Own end-to-end API governance using contract-first workflows and OpenAPI/AsyncAPI standards.
• Implement observability pipelines at scale and define reliability metrics (SLIs/SLOs) with error-budget policies.
• Engineer safe delivery through trunk-based flows, progressive rollouts (canary/blue-green), and automated rollbacks.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices for code generation, refactoring, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Software Development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) and working knowledge of Python.
• Expert-level proficiency with AWS core services, networking, and multi-account organization management.
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and GitOps workflows.
• Mastery of resilience patterns, event-driven architectures (Kafka), and observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, NewRelic).
• Experience with security hardening, identity management (OAuth2, JWT), and compliance (PCI-DSS, LGPD).

Nice to have

• Broad experience scaling DevEx practices within complex, regulated fintech environments.
• Exposure to edge computing and CDN optimization (Lambda@Edge, CloudFront).
