Software Development Manager (Data Platform)

Location: Fully remote position located in Colombia (Bogotá or Medellín)

What you will do

• Lead delivery of the Data Platform product and technical roadmap, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with customer needs.
• Lead, coach, and grow a team of data and platform engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, SMEs, and consumers to translate needs into roadmaps and plans.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, designs, standards, and maintainability.
• Ensure observability, privacy, security, and compliance, partnering with QA, Security, and Compliance teams.
• Drive operational excellence, incident response, CI/CD improvements, and technical debt reduction.

Requirements

• 4+ years of people management experience leading software or data engineering teams
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience in data engineering, platform systems, or distributed systems
• Experience with data ingestion pipelines, ETL workflows, and cloud-based data platforms
• Solid understanding of data lake architectures, data quality, metadata systems, and governance
• Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS
• Strong English language communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments
• Familiarity with accounting, auditing, or financial workflows
• Experience supporting partner ecosystems or customer-managed integrations
