What you will do
- Partner with CTO on engineering strategy, org structure, and hiring.
- Manage team leads with 1:1s, career development, and performance.
- Serve as technical escalation point and make architecture decisions.
- Respond to production incidents and improve processes like sprints, releases, and postmortems.
- Represent engineering in cross-functional and client discussions.
- Drive compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST) and recruit senior hires.
Requirements
- 10+ years software engineering, hands-on technical leader.
- Expertise in backend, cloud infra, data systems, frontend.
- Managed engineering managers or tech leads.
- Go and TypeScript proficiency.
- PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Redis, Firestore, cloud-native DB patterns.
- GCP experience (or equivalent), Docker/Kubernetes.
Nice to have
- Python proficiency.
- Health insurance/claims experience.
- HIPAA/SOC 2/HITRUST compliance.
- Terraform.
- Event-driven architectures, distributed systems, real-time pipelines.
- Series A-C startup experience.
- Incident management leadership.
