TL;DR

Staff Accountant (Finance/Medtech): Managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements with an accent on journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis. Focus on streamlining reporting workflows through AI tools and supporting external audit processes.

Location: Hybrid (New York, NY). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary: $80,000 base + bonus + equity

hirify.global is a digital health company democratizing medical imaging by creating affordable, handheld ultrasound systems using semiconductor technology.

What you will do

  • Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
  • Conduct flux analysis to investigate and explain period-over-period variances.
  • Maintain GL account schedules and ensure recording aligns with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support internal controls for SOX compliance and assist in the external audit process.
  • Leverage AI and digital tools to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience (internships or public accounting preferred).
  • Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (now or in the future).

Nice to have

  • CPA or CPA-eligible status.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Prior experience in the SAAS or medical device industries.
