What you will do

• Architect and implement Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs using domain-driven design for scalability and reliability.
• Develop event-driven systems utilizing Kafka, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis, implementing patterns for idempotency and error handling.
• Model and optimize data schemas across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Integrate agentic AI-first workflows using tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate development, refactoring, and testing.
• Own the testing strategy (unit, integration, contract) and help shape CI/CD pipelines transitioning to AWS EKS and Lambda.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, serving as the primary escalation point for complex architectural and delivery challenges.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 6–10+ years of experience designing secure Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Production experience with AWS (compute, messaging, storage), Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Strong discipline in CI/CD pipelines and code review excellence.
• Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or Splunk.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture.
• Experience securing APIs with Spring Security and OKTA.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK) and serverless architectures.
• Banking and Financial Services industry experience.
• PCI & SOX compliance awareness.
