What you will do

• Fabricate precision optical components using CNC milling, grinding, and polishing techniques.
• Operate deposition chambers to coat optics and assemble glass parts with high accuracy.
• Perform metrology using microscopes, calipers, and interferometers for quality inspection.
• Maintain 5S workplace standards and identify/escalate safety or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering to improve operational efficiency and cycle time.
• Inspect glass surfaces for minute defects and document problems using facts and data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Work authorization in the US without employer sponsorship is mandatory.
• Experience in a manufacturing facility or completion of vocational certification (preferred).
• Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing coveralls, hoods, and safety gear.
• Willingness to work a compressed night shift schedule (12-hour shifts).
• Physical dexterity to handle delicate optical components with care.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in a vocational trade.
• Prior use of CMM, interferometers, or coordinate measuring machines.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen or quality circles.
