What you will do
- Fabricate, perform metrology, and QC/test current-generation chips and next-gen integrated QPUs.
- Operate tools including metal deposition, electron-beam/optical lithography, wet/dry etch systems in and Yale cleanrooms.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools/facilities and qualify new fabrication tools.
- Monitor process health via SPC/DOE routines, interpret yield/metrology data, troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct failure analysis on defective devices to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Design/execute experiments to enhance device quality/process fidelity and present results to team/management.
- Assist in bringing up new in-house fabrication facility in New Haven in 2027, including tool installation/qualification.
Requirements
- 1-3 years semiconductor or related fabrication experience
- Experience in cleanroom environments, especially production/industry settings
- Experience with wet/dry etch, metal deposition, optical lithography
- Experience with metrology tools (SEM, AFM, profilometer) for monitoring/failure analysis
- Ability to execute processes consistently without variation
- Ability to independently design/execute cleanroom experiments
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, interdisciplinary teamwork
