What you will do

• Build the internal cost platform and reporting model for all engineering-controlled spend.
• Own the analysis and optimization of AWS and engineering-owned vendor expenditures.
• Define and implement showback, chargeback, and unit-cost models to understand the cost of services and customer footprint.
• Design telemetry-backed cost models that correlate infrastructure spend with actual usage.
• Partner with engineering, finance, and procurement teams on forecasting, renewals, and vendor rationalization.
• Establish cost-aware engineering practices and governance review cadences.

Requirements

• Strong infrastructure or platform engineering background.
• Deep expertise with AWS or comparable cloud environments.
• Proven experience in cost optimization, capacity economics, or FinOps.
• Strong analytical and data-modeling capabilities.
• Hands-on experience building internal platforms, tooling, or dashboards.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Experience with platforms like CloudZero, Apptio, or CloudHealth.
• Experience with telemetry or unit-cost modeling.
• Prior experience building a new internal capability from scratch.
• Experience in engineering-vendor utilization and cost governance.
