Engineering Manager (Fintech): Leading the Ledger & Reconciliation Platform team to build a deterministic financial source of truth for all money movement with an accent on correctness, idempotency, and auditability. Focus on designing double-entry ledger models, solving distributed systems challenges, and ensuring high-confidence reconciliation with external banking partners.
Location: Must be based in the United States (except Hawaii)
Salary: $174K – $274K + Equity

What you will do
- Lead and develop the team responsible for ledger systems and reconciliation pipelines.
- Define architecture prioritizing correctness, idempotency, and auditability.
- Design and evolve double-entry ledger models and transaction lifecycles across products.
- Build high-confidence systems to reconcile internal state with banks, processors, and networks.
- Partner with Accounting and Finance to encode financial rules and controls into system design.
- Establish engineering practices for data integrity and observability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- 1.5+ years of engineering management experience.
- Experience building ledger systems, accounting platforms, or reconciliation infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of data correctness, transactional integrity, and consistency models.
- Expertise in distributed systems challenges (idempotency, ordering, failure recovery).
- Must be based in the US (excluding Hawaii)
Nice to have
- Background in fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure.
- Experience implementing double-entry accounting models in software.
- Exposure to audit, compliance, or financial reporting systems.
- Familiarity with TypeScript (Node.js), MySQL, GCP, and React/React Native.
