What you will do
- Own and evolve the ML development engine, ensuring necessary data, compute, and systems are in place for rapid development.
- Manage the full data feedback loop, from ingestion through labelling, QA, and ML-ready data preparation.
- Define and scale data operations, including managing offshore QA teams and quality frameworks.
- Partner with internal and external researchers to translate R&D goals into structured, executable plans.
- Coordinate across research, engineering, and data teams to align priorities and manage dependencies.
- Improve model performance tracking, evaluation visibility, and documentation of AI R&D efforts.
Requirements
- Experience in ML, data, or research-adjacent environments with a solid understanding of model training and evaluation.
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines, including data preparation and training workflows.
- Experience managing large-scale data labelling and annotation operations.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical programmes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong systems thinking to connect data, models, and tooling into a cohesive operating system.
- Must be based in Sydney, Australia for hybrid work.
Nice to have
- Experience with computer vision, geospatial data, or spatial neural networks.
- Exposure to ML performance measurement systems or evaluation frameworks.
