Sr Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AWS)

Location: San Francisco, California (Hybrid)

Salary: $159,900–$219,900 USD per year for Zone 1. Total compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and deploy production-grade AWS infrastructure using Terraform or Pulumi.
• Manage and scale containerized workloads with AKS or EKS, focusing on cluster security and resource efficiency.
• Architect GitHub Actions deployment pipelines and manage GitHub-hosted and self-hosted runners.
• Build infrastructure for observable-by-default internal applications with logging and metrics enabled by default.
• Develop internal CLI tools, AI plugins, and automation scripts to improve developer workflows and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Support; document solutions, lead failure triage, review code, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production-level software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Expert-level Terraform or Pulumi experience, including modules and state management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization.
• Advanced knowledge of GitHub Actions and GitHub Runners.
• Experience with observability pillars and tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK, plus distributed systems such as Kafka or messaging queues.
