Sr. Cloud Engineer (AWS/Databricks)

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate secure cloud infrastructure for enterprise data, analytics, and AI/ML workloads across development, validation, and production environments.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and automation for AWS and Databricks resources, including networking, IAM, S3, KMS, Unity Catalog, and platform integrations.
• Administer Databricks workspaces and account-level resources, including governance, metastore configuration, credentials, clusters, jobs, secrets, and access controls.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and develop Python, Bash, and cloud API tooling to automate infrastructure and platform operations.
• Implement observability, audit logging, secure data integrations, and AI/ML platform capabilities including MLflow, AWS Bedrock, and GenAI workloads.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, security, and application teams on investigations, incident response, documentation, architecture improvements, and production reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and designing secure architectures using least-privilege IAM, encryption, private networking, and compliance-focused controls.
• Experience with Terraform, reusable infrastructure modules, large-scale deployments, and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience administering Databricks, including Unity Catalog, workspace and account-level resources, permissions, service principals, and integrations.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills, plus experience supporting production data platforms, distributed systems, analytics environments, or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, regulated cloud environments, or federal and healthcare environments.
• Experience with Databricks migrations, E2 architecture, networking redesigns, or cloud modernization.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, LLM integrations, RAG architectures, GenAI workloads, Splunk, or GitHub organization automation.
• Databricks, AWS, Terraform, or cloud security certifications.
