Reconciliation Accountant (Finance)

What you will do

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations to ensure balance accuracy and integrity.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, escalating unusual or aged discrepancies to management.
• Prepare and post clearing and adjusting journal entries in coordination with Senior Accountants.
• Maintain and monitor reconciliation aging schedules to ensure timely clearance of items.
• Perform daily review of the FRB account and other clearing accounts for completeness.
• Support variance analysis, liquidity tracking, and general ledger integrity during month-end close.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Rockville, MD headquarters.
• Solid understanding of accounting functions and General Ledger transaction flows.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a bookkeeper or staff accountant.
• Experience within the banking sector and intercompany accounting.
