What you will do

• Design and execute experiments essential to the diagnostics team's project and overall success.
• Develop and optimize PCR and CRISPR-based diagnostic assays for viral surveillance.
• Troubleshoot experimental protocols by consulting scientific literature and collaborating with staff.
• Maintain detailed experimental records, documentation, and written protocols.
• Communicate results and technical roadblocks regularly to the wider diagnostic team.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field with at least 2 years of professional experience (or an advanced degree without prior experience).
• Proven expertise in wet lab skills and nucleic acid amplification.
• Experience with digital PCR or viral diagnostics.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Cambridge, MA.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Strong interest in work-related travel to implement technology at partner sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with CRISPR applications.
• Interest in or previous experience developing high-throughput assays or translational technologies.
