TL;DR

System Integration and Test Engineer (Robotics): Bringing together flight software and hardware subsystems in bench, lab, and aircraft test environments with an accent on V&V workflows and safety-of-flight decisions. Focus on developing SIL and HITL CI/CD core tests to ensure system quality and prevent regressions.

Location: Mountain View, CA. Must be a U.S. person or have legal authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $165,000 – $215,000

What you will do

  • Plan and execute system and aircraft level V&V workflows to ensure vehicle integration milestones.
  • Integrate flight software and hardware subsystems in bench, lab, and aircraft test environments.
  • Develop a comprehensive set of software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) CI/CD core tests.
  • Define and execute test procedures, evaluate pass/fail criteria, and document resulting issues.
  • Compile and audit system readiness artifacts to determine aircraft and flight readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience creating and executing tests for aerospace or autonomous systems.
  • Professional experience with software- and hardware-in-the-loop (SIL/HITL) test environments.
  • Proficiency in Python for data reduction and visualization.
  • Professional experience with C/C++ development for real-time and safety-critical environments.
  • Must comply with U.S. export control laws; capacity to perform as a U.S. person or with government authorization is required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of GNC theory and common aerospace control architectures.
  • Experience with development assurance standards such as ARP-4754B or DO-178C.
  • Professional experience integrating flight planning, guidance, estimation, or control algorithms.
  • Private or commercial pilot license.
