Project Engineer (Defense)

Project Engineer (Defense/Simulation): Leading technical teams in the development and delivery of training system solutions with an accent on cost account management, risk mitigation, and schedule performance. Salary: $144,300 - 176,300

What you will do

• Act as the technical lead for assigned engineering teams, leading design reviews and coordinating technical activities across program IPTs.
• Perform Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews to manage technical, cost, and schedule performance.
• Collaborate with senior program engineering management to propose and deliver Product Line solutions.
• Improve existing processes and champion new technologies or conceptual strategies to impact business results.
• Interface with senior civilian government, DoD, and industry leaders to influence new practices and approaches.
• Utilize a risk management approach to systematically measure performance and maintain Training Systems.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of technical project experience using both Traditional and Agile Program Execution methods.
• Active DoD Secret clearance granted or renewed within the last 5 years.
• U.S. citizenship is strictly required due to government contract requirements.
• 3+ years of experience with Clearcase, Clearquest, DOORs, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to starting.

Nice to have

• Experience within the Modeling and Simulation industry.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools (Atlassian, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker).
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Experience with Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS/UCCI).
• Proven mentoring and coaching skills.
