What you will do

• Report directly to the COO with full mandate to elevate data maturity across the business
• Evolve current pipelines and infrastructure into a reliable, scalable data platform
• Expand self-serve analytics so every team can access insights without depending on engineering
• Grow and lead the data team, hiring, mentoring, and setting the bar for craft
• Establish data governance, quality standards, and a shared data model trusted company-wide
• Build data products for AI agents as core consumers of the data layer
• Leverage hirify.global's global infrastructure and partner with product, finance, ops, and growth

Requirements

• 10+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or senior data infrastructure role
• Expert-level SQL and data manipulation with Spark, PySpark, or equivalent for high-volume datasets
• Deep expertise in data lake/warehousing (Presto, Athena, Glue, Snowflake, Databricks) and data modeling
• Experience designing/operating data pipelines and ETL/ELT in Airflow or similar
• Strong Python proficiency; hands-on translating business requirements into data solutions
• Proven track record leading/growing data teams, operating as senior stakeholder for executives
• Experience scaling data functions in high-growth startups, post-acquisition, or regulated industries like fintech/crypto

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming technologies like Kafka or Apache Flink
• Exposure to data mesh or data product frameworks
