Location: Remote, must be based in Brazil. Remote positions may require presence at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data platform engineers, fostering ownership, quality, and operational excellence.
• Define and execute the data platform strategy and roadmap, aligned with company priorities.
• Design and operate high-performance batch and streaming data pipelines for large-scale workloads.
• Own production operations, including monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvements to meet SLOs.
• Implement data quality, governance, access control, and cost/performance optimizations.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data teams to deliver end-to-end data products.

Requirements

• Be based in Brazil.
• 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelor’s, or 2+ years with Advanced degree, or 8+ years experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams (hiring, coaching, performance management).
• Strong software engineering background in distributed systems and data-intensive platforms at scale.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), streaming/event-driven architectures.
• English proficiency (professional working level - B2+).

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Golang or Python.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong SQL skills for analytical and operational workloads.
